Job summary

A healthcare organization is seeking a qualified individual to operate x-ray equipment for mammograms. Responsibilities include assisting in breast biopsy procedures, instructing patients for proper radiographs, and ensuring safety and cleanliness in the work area. The ideal candidate should hold ARRT, RT(M), or equivalent training as per Mammography Quality Standards Act requirements. This position offers a per diem schedule with work hours typically from 8 AM to 4:30 PM.

Qualifications

• ARRT, RT(M), or equivalent formal training as accepted under the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA).
• Mammography-specific training and competency required.
• Experience with breast biopsy procedures a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assists in breast biopsy procedures including needle localizations and stereotactic biopsies.
• Instructs patients to ensure diagnostic quality radiographs.
• Ensures work area meets safety and cleanliness standards.
• Ensure safety, equipment supply, and cleanliness in the work area.
• Enter data for dictation and billing purposes.

Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, operates x-ray equipment to perform mammograms; develops film and completes paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Assists in breast biopsy procedures to include needle localizations, stereotactic biopsies, and ductograms.
• Instructs and positions patients to obtain acceptable radiographs of diagnostic quality.
• Ensures work area meets appropriate standards of safety, equipment supply and cleanliness levels.
• Manually enters data ensuring proper preparation for dictation and billing.
• ARRT, RT(M), or equivalent formal training as accepted under the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA).
