Job Description

Perform a variety of technical activities associated with screening and diagnostic mammography procedures, including operating mammographic equipment, positioning patients, calculating exposure factors, assisting physicians, performing quality control, evaluating radiographs, preparing supplies, explaining procedures, charging procedures, providing training, and other related duties.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited program meeting registry/certification eligibility or hold required registry/certification.
• For technologists qualifying after April 28, 1999, at least 40 hours of documented mammography training.
• ARRT certification in radiography and advanced certification in mammography.
• FDA/MQSA qualification, including meeting CE requirements.
• BLS certification.
• Experience requirements vary by level, with specific numbers of mammography exams performed and years of experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Proficiency in all breast imaging procedures, ability to train and supervise, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
