Job summary

RAYUS Radiology in Florida is seeking a Mammography Technologist to operate mammography scanners and provide patient-centered imaging for diagnostic purposes. You will position patients, obtain high-quality images, and maintain safety and documentation per MQSA standards.

The role is temporary/PRN with varied shifts. Required: AMA-approved radiography education, ARRT registration, CPR, and state licensure as applicable. Opportunities include ongoing training and a committed radiology team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of AMA approved school of radiography.
• ARRT registered technologist in good standing.
• State radiologic license, if applicable.
• Current CPR certification.
• Competent in performing mammography procedures independently.
• Certification in imaging specialty.
• CEUs required by MQSA or state rules.

Responsibilities

• Operate assigned mammography scanner(s) to image the patient for diagnostic purposes.
• Explain procedures and position patients for optimal imaging.
• Perform routine and advanced mammography imaging with minimal supervision.
• Adjust scan parameters and use dose-reduction techniques.
• Maintain accurate patient records in RIS and ensure safety.
• Keep work area clean and compliant with standards.
• Maintain ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements.
• Support training of new team members.

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Mammography Technologist to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together! As a Mammography Technologist, you will be responsible for the operation of assigned scanner(s) to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. Taking a patient centered approach, you will provide Mammography services within professional standards and with excellent customer service.

This is a temporary/PRN position working varied shifts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(90%) Patient Mammography Imaging

1. Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure
2. Explains and prepares patients for Mammography imaging procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately imaged/scanned
3. Performs routine and advanced Mammography imaging procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeats scanned, while providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure
4. Adjusts Mammography scan parameters correctly and as needed, utilizing dose reduction techniques as appropriate
5. Follows physicians' orders precisely, conforms to safety regulations, and accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)
6. Maintains an orderly and clean work area including equipment promoting good safety habits for patients and team members
7. Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements

(5%) Mammography Department Support

1. Assists with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades
2. Monitors medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary
3. Assists with training of new team members, providing resource and technical expertise, as applicable

(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned

Required:

1. High School diploma, or equivalent
2. Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography
3. ARRT registered technologist, current and in good standing
4. Licensed Radiologic Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
5. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
6. Must have sufficient training and experience to competently perform mammography procedures independently
7. Certification in imaging specialty
8. Must have continuing CEU's in modality as required by MQSA or state specific
