Job summary

West Cancer Center is seeking a Mammography Tech to operate imaging equipment and perform quality procedures for our patient population. The role emphasizes precision, professionalism, and delivering compassionate care aligned with our mission.

The technician will ensure regulatory compliance, manage supplies, and maintain infection control while providing education to student technologists as needed. A formal radiography program and ARRT credentials are required.

Qualifications

• Completion of a formal radiography program accredited for ARRT.
• Current ARRT registration as RT(R).
• Must obtain Mammography certification within six months of hire.
• State radiologic licensure per regulations.
• BLS Certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality radiologic procedures using appropriate safety methods.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, policies, and procedures.
• Manage resources effectively, including supplies and equipment.
• Demonstrate professionalism and excellent customer service in all interactions.
• Maintain compliance with safety protocols and infection control measures.
• Provide occasional demonstration and instruction to student technologists.
• Perform other job-related functions as assigned

Position Overview

The Mammography Tech is responsible for operating imaging equipment to perform procedures for a specified patient population. This role requires precision, professionalism, and a commitment to delivering quality patient care in accordance with West Cancer Center's Mission, Vision, and Values.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform quality radiologic procedures using appropriate technical and safety methods
• Monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, policies, and procedures
• Manage resources effectively, including supplies and equipment

• Maintain compliance with safety protocols and infection control measures

Qualifications

Education & Experience

Required

• Completion of a formal education program in radiography accredited by a mechanism acceptable to ARRT
• Certification and registration as R.T. (R) ARRT
• Must obtain certification and registry in Mammography within six months of hire
• State license in accordance with state regulations
• BLS Certification through the American Heart Association

Skills & Abilities

• Basic knowledge of radiographic equipment and imaging procedures
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic knowledge of radiology information systems (RIS, HIS, and PACS preferred)
