Akumin is hiring a Mammo Tech or Mammo Tech Trainee for our Danbury facility as a full-time position. The trainee learns safety, customer service, documentation, and operation of MRI under the guidance of a registered technologist.
Responsibilities include pre-screening, atraumatic scans under supervision, and maintaining patient files per policy. On-the-job training emphasizes teamwork and high-quality imaging.

We are currently hiring for a Mammo Tech OR Mammo Tech Trainee (a trainee is an certified X-Ray Technologist willing to train in Mammography) at our Danbury facility. This will be a Full-Time position. The Technologist learns the safety, customer service skills, documentation and operation of MRI through on-the-job training under the direction of a registered technologist.
Conducts pre-screening of all personnel before entering the magnet room to ensure their safety. Scans and documents patients under the direction of a registered technologist to meet all customer (if applicable) and Akumin requirements. Completes necessary documentation for patient files to ensure all customer, Akumin policy and Joint Commission requirements are met. Other job duties as needed.
High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associate's Degree or equivalent experience preferred; Successful completion of a Radiology School required. Certified by ARRT, NMTCB or ARDMS required. State issued Radiologic Technologist License, if applicable required. CPR certification required. Valid state driver’s license, if applicable required. Successful completion of a Radiology School. Continuing education of the structure component to the MRI/CT exam. Successful completion of a Radiology School Successfully demonstrate proficiency running advanced MR/CT studies independently preferred. Technical proficiency using GE 1.5T or other designated vendor scanning equipment preferred. Possession of venipuncture certification, or ability to secure within 3 months, if required by customer/contract preferred. Ability to work at several locations Strong customer service skills. Organizational and multi-tasking skills. Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs. Local travel may be required.

The employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions during transport of patients if working on a mobile unit, a strong magnetic field and blood/body fluids and infectious disease. More than 50% of the time: Sit, stand, walk. Repetitive movement of hands, arms and legs. See, speak and hear to be able to communicate with patients. Less than 50% of the time: Stoop, kneel or crawl. Climb and balance. Carry and lift (ability to move non-ambulatory patients from a sitting or lying position for transfer or to exam).
The estimated hourly pay range for this role in CT is $40.00 - $50.00. Actual compensation depends on experience, skills, location, and other factors such as internal equity and budget.
