Responsibilities

• Obtains optimum quality breast images for radiologist interpretation while performing screening mammograms and diagnostic breast imaging studies.
• Assists radiologist during stereotactic and ultrasound guided biopsies.
• Assesses patients through review of previous studies and history to determine screening versus diagnostic patients.
• Covers other functions in the department as deemed necessary.
• Provides radiation protection in accordance with proper standards, uses shielding and proper technical factors to minimize exposure without reducing image quality.
• Stays abreast of changes by attending educational seminars and reviewing relevant materials.
• Keeps updated on organizational and departmental changes by checking email on each shift.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
