Schedule: Relief

Shift: Variable shifts available for pickup, with clinic hours from 8-7 Monday to Friday, and Saturday 9-2, Sunday 10-2.

Location: AdventHealth Imaging Center, 5675 Roe Blvd, Roeland Park, 66205

The role you’ll contribute:

The Mammography Tech performs routine and special view mammograms under the direction of a radiologist and assists in wire localizations, galactograms, and stereotactic vacuum-assisted biopsy procedures.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

  • Maintain all essential job functions of the Mammography Technologist
  • Perform other related duties as required by the Breast Center Manager
  • Follow the “Standard of Behavior” guidelines per hospital policy
  • Maintain ethical relationships and cooperate with all personnel
  • Incorporate patient, physician, and customer needs into decision-making
  • Assist in Code Blue procedures if called
  • Follow safety standards to provide protection
  • Operate computer systems to input patient information and protocols
  • Verify and transmit exams to PACs System, securing storage for future reference
  • Keep accurate records of procedures
  • Follow the AIDET communication model
  • Attend at least 50% of scheduled department meetings and stay informed of missed information
  • Operate Cerner System proficiently, troubleshooting order issues within scope
  • Follow all safety and infection prevention policies

Qualifications

The expertise and experience needed to succeed:

  • Knowledge of radiation safety
  • Experience performing 2D and 3D mammography exams
  • Strong teamwork skills

Knowledge and Skills Preferred:

  • Ability to assist radiologists/surgeons with stereotactic breast biopsies

Education and Experience Required:

  • Associate’s degree or technical school graduate
  • 1-2 years of related experience

Preferred:

  • 2-5 years of related experience

Licensure, Certification, or Registration:

  • Kansas LRT License
  • National Registry ARRT
  • Mammography ARRT Certification (RT, R, M)
  • BCLS certification through the American Heart Association
