Job summary

Highpoint Health - Sumner with Ascension Saint Thomas in Gallatin, TN is seeking a Mammography Tech (PRN) to join our radiology team. You will perform diagnostic imaging procedures, educate patients on procedures, and maintain imaging quality and safety standards.

The role requires an associate's degree (preferred), TN State Radiation Operator license, ARRT certification, and BLS. This position emphasizes patient care, accuracy, and teamwork within a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree preferred; Graduate of a Program in Discipline - Required.
• TN State Radiation Operator license.
• ARRT certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
• When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
• Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate. May assist physician with performing interventional procedures including fine needle aspiration and needle localization.
• Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
• Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary
