Job summary

The Hospital of Central Connecticut is seeking Radiologic Technologists to be cross-trained in Mammography, performing diagnostic radiographic imaging in an acute care setting and delivering patient-centered care. The role emphasizes safety, accurate data entry into EMR, RIS, and PACS, and collaboration within a busy radiology team.

Candidates must graduate from an accredited Radiography program, hold the CT radiographer license in Connecticut, be ARRT certified in Radiography, and maintain BLS

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Radiography program.
• State of Connecticut Radiographer license.
• ARRT certification in Radiography.
• Basic Life Support (BLS).

Responsibilities

• Performs Radiologic examinations on identified patients according to department procedures and protocols by positioning patients, and operating radiographic equipment while utilizing the assessment of patient age and diagnosis to produce high quality images.
• Performs fluoroscopic procedures as needed. Works in the O.R. and operates C-arm as needed.
• Minimizes radiation to the patient, self and others by practicing appropriate radiation protection techniques.
• Accurately inputs procedural information into electronic medical record, RIS and PACS to capture necessary information regarding exams.
• Obtains relevant patient information to ensure the reason for exam is concordant with the exam request and perform the appropriate exam.
