Job summary
Defense Health Agency in Virginia seeks a Radiologic Technologist (Mammography) to perform mammography screenings and diagnostic exams. You will consult with radiologists, maintain patient records, and ensure proper positioning and technique for accurate imaging.
The role requires one year of specialized experience and/or graduate education in healthcare tech, with certifications and transcripts as needed. DHA offers DoD benefits, retirement, and relocation support as authorized.
Qualifications
- One year of specialized experience in clinical laboratory testing, calibration or maintenance of instruments, and documenting results.
- Graduate level education in Healthcare/Medical Technician fields may qualify.
- Certification and transcripts must be attached if education is used to qualify.
- Foreign education must be evaluated for equivalence.
Responsibilities
- Perform mammography screenings for periodic or baseline exams.
- Perform diagnostic mammograms on symptomatic patients.
- Consult with Radiologist on findings requiring attention.
- Maintain records of patients, examinations and scans.
- Explain procedures to patients and position them accurately.
- Recognize anatomical variants and determine need for further exams.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
