Job summary

Martin Army Community Hospital at Fort Benning, GA, seeks a Mammography Technologist to perform diagnostic mammography and assist with breast biopsies. You will handle patient positioning, explain procedures, and ensure QC steps are completed daily using PACS and EHR systems.

Qualifications

• Valid radiologic technology license or certification required.
• Experience with mammography preferred and patient education duties.
• Ability to perform QC tests and document results accurately.

Responsibilities

• Perform mammography for periodic, baseline, and symptomatic examinations for out-patients.
• Receive patients, explain methods of exams, position patient and make adjustments necessary for the required examination.
• Performing and documenting daily processor quality control (QC) steps prior to clinical images being processed.
• Perform all required mammography QC tests according to ACR guidelines.
• Assist in the performance of breast biopsies.
• Perform daily and monthly cleaning of processors and constantly ensure adequate maintenance of chemicals.
• Counsel patients after the procedure, watch for immediate complications and discharge patient with written and oral instructions.
• Be able to perform technical duties with the Mammography Reporting System, Electronic Health System, and PACS.
• As well as assisting with administrative, mandatory training, and front desk duties as needed.
