Job summary

Parkland Health in Dallas is seeking a Mammography Technologist to perform high-quality breast imaging at Moody Outpatient Center. The role requires ARRT registration in Radiography, MRT certification, and ongoing compliance with MQSA and state regulations.

Collaboration with radiologists, technologists, and staff is essential to ensure patient comfort and accurate imaging. Responsibilities include QC monitoring, documentation, biopsy assistance, and participation in performance improvement

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology and/or Mammography program.
• Prefer graduate of an accredited Mammography Technologist program; training possible for Radiology Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Performs high-quality mammography imaging for radiologists and evaluates patient history and orders.
• Monitors MQSA/state QC program; performs QC checks and notifies if tests are out of range.
• Maintains proper documentation in the patient health record for procedures performed.
• Communicates procedures to patients to ensure comfort and understanding.
• Assists physicians in needle location, stereo/sono-guided biopsies, Mammotome, galactograms as needed.
• Identifies ways to improve work processes and customer satisfaction; reports to supervisor.
• Maintains positive working relationships with staff, patients, and visitors; serves as resource to other mammography technologists.
• Keeps knowledge current on rules, regulations, policies; promotes compliance with accreditation agencies and health plans.
• Stays updated on mammography developments; maintains ARRT certification and Texas licensure; participates in performance improvement.
