FoundCare in West Palm Beach, FL is seeking a Mammography Coordinator to interface with the breast health team and coordinate screening mammography, diagnostic imaging, clinical evaluation, and support services for women receiving care.

You will act as the primary intake point, ensuring timely access to medical and supportive services, while contributing to data collection and tumor board processes and maintaining documentation and equipment readiness.

Qualifications

  • Minimum three years of experience in mammography.
  • Experience performing stereotactic core biopsies.
  • Experience performing breast needle localizations.
  • Willingness to travel between FoundCare locations as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate screening mammography, diagnostic imaging, and breast health education.
  • Educate and follow up with women with abnormal screening results for timely evaluation.
  • Monitor scheduling and preparation for radiological biopsies (MRI; PEM; ultrasound; stereotactic).
  • Ensure facility readiness and calibrate equipment per FDA requirements.
  • Provide data and patient information to physicians for interpretation; maintain records.
  • Monitor department flow and recommend process improvements.

Job description

Description
PRIMARY PURPOSE:

To interface with the breast health team and coordinate all aspects of screening mammography, diagnostic imaging, clinical evaluation, and support services and education for women receiving services at FoundCare. The Mammography Coordinator serves as a primary point of intake, ensuring patients have appropriate, timely, medical and supportive services. This position also supports data collection and tumor board processes.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Assist with facilitating an evidence-based, multidisciplinary, multi-specialty approach to breast cancer care throughout the diagnostic continuum.
  • Educate, recruit, track, and follow-up with women who receive abnormal breast cancer-screening results to ensure easy access from diagnostic evaluation to biopsy if needed.
  • Ensure contact of referring clinic when patients are found to need further diagnostic evaluation and/or breast biopsy.
  • Monitor patient scheduling and preparation for radiological guided breast biopsy including MRI; PEM; ultrasound and stereotactic core biopsy.
  • Ensure patient's understanding of breast biopsy procedure and assists with imaging breast biopsies as needed.
  • Assist in preparing facilities in accordance with procedural requirements; calibrates equipment as required by the health center, and in accordance with the requirements set forth by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
  • Provide images, data analysis, and patient information to the physician for diagnostic interpretation.
  • Complete all documentation, including computerized documentation.
  • Maintain stock supplies and assist administrators in determining quantities for purchase.
  • Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies, and promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Monitor flow and productivity in the department and recommend improved processes.
  • Perform tasks that are within the scope of his or her educational preparation and knowledge, and as permitted by the policies and procedures of FoundCare and other applicable local, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to assist with invasive procedures as needed.
  • Ability to work effectively within role: independently and with team members.
  • Ability to organize and complete work in a timely manner.
  • Ability to read, write, and effectively communicate in the English language, with or without the use of auxiliary aids or services.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word, and ability to navigate electronic health record systems.
  • Ability to review, understand, and apply concepts presented in training programs, conferences, and/or professional literature.
  • Ability to interact and work with diverse populations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all patient and organizational information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations involving patients, providers, or others, professionally.
  • Clear understanding that FoundCare provides information on educating individuals on safer sex practices which would include but not be limited to, exposure to explicit language, explicit printed material, and descriptions of explicit sexual activities as part of the agency’s mission in the prevention and transmission of HIV disease.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to endure short, intermittent, and/or long periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (e.g., facemask, goggles, latex/non-latex gloves) as needed.
  • Ability to work in a patient care setting with possible exposure to blood and body fluids, communicable diseases, and ability to utilize standard precautions to prevent transmission of diseases.
  • Full range of body motion required. Position requires reaching, bending, and handling objects with hands and/or fingers, talking and/or hearing, and seeing.
  • Use standard office equipment and technology, including computers, telephones, and clinical equipment and systems, in the course of daily duties.
  • Ability to travel to other FoundCare locations and perform job duties.
  • Ability to travel to other locations to attend meetings, workshops, and seminars, plus travel to other FoundCare departments and FoundCare conference rooms.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in mammography.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience performing Stereotactic Core biopsies.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience performing Breast Needle localizations.
  • Florida State License, General Radiographer
  • ARRT (R)
  • ARRT (M)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Experience working with oncology patients.
