Job Summary:

The Mammographer performs diagnostic mammographic procedures in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures to ensure the best possible patient care services are delivered.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Performs all mammographic procedures and views according to established department protocols, including proper execution, review of images for quality, documentation, and equipment maintenance.
  2. Demonstrates competency in procedures for adult to geriatric patients, explaining procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and providing education.
  3. Performs all RIS transactions accurately for patient and procedure data entry.
  4. Performs visual maintenance checks on equipment, reports malfunctions, and participates in quality assurance initiatives.
  5. Communicates effectively with hospital staff and physicians, assists in scheduling, and exchanges pertinent patient information.
  6. Contributes to a positive team environment, displays flexibility, and collaborates effectively with clinical staff.

Technical Capabilities:

Allied health professionals perform supportive, diagnostic, and therapeutic services to promote health and prevent disease, contributing to Vanderbilt Health's reputation for excellence.
