Job summary

RAYUS Radiology is seeking a Mammography Technologist to join our team in Florida. You will operate mammography scanners, position patients, and ensure high-quality images for diagnostic purposes while delivering excellent patient service.

Responsibilities include adhering to safety regulations, documenting in the RIS, maintaining equipment and supplies, and supporting the department in protocol maintenance. ARRT registered and MQSA CEU requirements apply; strong patient communication is valued.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an AMA approved radiography program.
• ARRT registered technologist in good standing.
• Licensed Radiologic Technologist in the applicable state, if required.
• Current CPR certification.
• Capability to perform mammography independently with MQSA CEUs as required.
• Imaging specialty certification.
• Continuing CEUs in modality per MQSA/state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate mammography scanners to image patients for diagnostic purposes.
• Position patients correctly and ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures.
• Follow physicians' orders, maintain records in RIS, and ensure image quality.
• Maintain clean work area and equipment, and support departmental protocols.
• Assist with imaging protocol updates and training of team members.

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Mammography Technologistto join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together! As a Mammography Technologist, you will beresponsible for the operation of assigned scanner(s) to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. Taking a patient centered approach, you will provide Mammography services within professional standards and with excellent customer service.

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week; shifts are Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(90%) Patient Mammography Imaging

1. Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure
2. Explains and prepares patients for Mammography imaging procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately imaged/scanned
3. Performs routine and advanced Mammography imaging procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeats scanned, while providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure
4. Adjusts Mammography scan parameters correctly and as needed, utilizing dose reduction techniques as appropriate
5. Follows physicians' orders precisely, conforms to safety regulations, and accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)
6. Maintains an orderly and clean work area including equipment promoting good safety habits for patients and team members
7. Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements

(5%) Mammography Department Support

1. Assists with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades
2. Monitors medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary
3. Assists with training of new team members, providing resource and technical expertise, as applicable

(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned

Required:

1. High School diploma, or equivalent
2. Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography
3. ARRT registered technologist, current and in good standing
4. Licensed Radiologic Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
5. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
6. Must have sufficient training and experience to competently perform mammography procedures independently
7. Certification in imaging specialty
8. Must have continuing CEU's in modality as required by MQSA or state specific
