Job summary

Portsmouth Regional Hospital in New Hampshire is seeking a Mammographer to independently perform routine and complex breast imaging. You will instruct patients, ensure high-quality exams, and support workflow through CIS, RIS, and PACS proficiency.

The role includes participating in MQSA quality control activities, stereotactic biopsy support, and ongoing review of image quality and documentation to maintain diagnostic accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • ARRT‑R and ARRT‑M registered.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and complex breast imaging and examinations.
  • Instruct patients in breast self-examinations and address questions.
  • Demonstrate competency in CIS, RIS, and PACS usage.
  • Develop, optimize and implement imaging protocols to enhance quality.
  • Perform MQSA quality control functions daily and participate in stereotactic biopsy and needle localization.
  • Review each exam for technical accuracy and documentation.

Job Summary

As a Mammographer, you would independently perform routine and complex breast imaging and examinations. You would instruct patients in breast self-examinations and address any questions or concerns they may have.

  • You would demonstrate competency in the use of all applicable aspects of the CIS, RIS, and PACS.
  • Assist with the development, optimization and implementation of protocols to enhance image quality.
  • Demonstrate ability to perform quality control functions daily inclusive of MQSA Quality Control functions for mammography.
  • Performs other procedures assigned including stereotactic BX, needle locs, and bone density studies.
  • Reviews each exam for technical accuracy (i.e. markers on images, technical quality, anatomical positioning, annotation, etc.).
