Qualifications

  • Two-year Radiologic Technology program approved by CAHEA of the AMA.
  • ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology required; Mammography (ARRT-M) if not currently registered must be obtained within six months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mammography and breast imaging procedures per physician orders and protocols.
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic images to support interpretation by radiologists.
  • Assist radiologists with image-guided breast procedures as needed.
  • Monitor patient safety, comfort, and care throughout imaging.
  • Perform and document equipment QC according to departmental protocols and report issues.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and imaging data in imaging systems.
  • Apply radiation safety practices and sterile techniques to maintain safety.
  • Support efficient patient flow and departmental operations.
  • Provide instruction to radiology and ultrasound students rotating through imaging.

This role is ideal for imaging professionals who are committed to delivering patient-centered care while supporting flexible departmental coverage needs.The Mammography Technologist performs comprehensive breast imaging studies under the direction of a Radiologist, producing high-quality diagnostic images using specialized mammography equipment. In collaboration with radiologists and interdisciplinary healthcare teams, the technologist supports timely diagnosis and treatment planning while maintaining strict adherence to imaging protocols, radiation safety standards, and quality control procedures.In this role, the Mammography Technologist provides patient care essential to breast imaging services while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and clear communication throughout imaging procedures.
