Job summary

Prisma Health seeks a Radiologic Technologist for Mammography to perform screening and diagnostic breast imaging with independent judgment, ensuring high-quality images for radiologist interpretation. Qualifications

• Certification in Radiologic Technology program completed.
• No experience required; radiology experience preferred.
• SCRQSA certification required for SC team members (from posting).

Responsibilities

• Obtain optimum breast images for radiologist interpretation during screening and diagnostic studies.
• Assist radiologist during stereotactic and ultrasound-guided biopsies.
• Assess patients through review of history to determine screening vs diagnostic status.
• Provide radiation protection and shielding to minimize exposure without compromising image quality.
• Keep up with changes by attending seminars and reading relevant materials.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Performs a variety of breast imaging procedures that require independent judgement, ingenuity and competency.

Essential Functions

• Obtains optimum quality breast images for radiologist interpretation while performing screening mammograms and diagnostic breast imaging studies.
• Assists radiologist during stereotactic and ultrasound guided biopsies.
• Assesses patients through review of previous studies and history to determine screening versus diagnostic patients.
• Covers other functions in the department as deemed necessary.
• Provides radiation protection in accordance with proper standards as set by State and Federal boards, uses proper shielding, collimation and technical factors that minimize radiation exposure without affecting quality of images.
• Remains abreast of changes and new procedures by attending educational seminars or classes and reading job related material.
• Stays abreast of organizational, affiliate and departmental changes/updates by checking email on each shift.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

• This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
