Job summary

Akumin is seeking a Mammo Tech at our Danbury facility in Connecticut. This full-time role trains under a registered technologist and supports pre-screening, patient imaging, and documentation in a fast-paced radiology setting.

The position requires ARRT/ARMRIT/NMTCB/ARDMS certification, CPR, and a state radiologic license where applicable, along with strong customer service and organizational skills. Occasional travel between locations may be required to meet patient needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of Radiology School or program.
• Certification by ARRT/ARMRIT/NMTCB/ARDMS and CPR.

Responsibilities

• Pre-screen personnel for safety entering magnet room.
• Scan and document patients under supervision to meet requirements.
• Complete patient files and enforce Joint Commission policies.
• Operate radiology equipment and perform advanced studies as needed.
• Travel to multiple locations may be required.

This will be a Full Time position.The Mammo Tech learns the safety, customer service skills, documentation and operation of Radiology through on-the job training under the direction of a registered technologist.Specific duties include, but are not limited to:Conducts pre-screening of all personnel before entering the magnet room to ensure their safety.Scans and documents patients under the direction of a registered technologist to meet all customer (if applicable) and Akumin requirements.Completes necessary documentation for patient files to ensure all customer, Akumin policy and Joint Commission requirements are met.Other job duties as needed.Position Requirements:High School Diploma or equivalent experience.Successful completion of a Radiology School.Certificate from College or Technical School.Certified by ARRT, ARMRIT, NMTCB or ARDMS.Continuing education of the structure component to the Radiology exam.State issued Radiologic Technologist License, if applicable.CPR certification.Valid state driver’s license, if applicable.Ability to work at several locations.Strong customer service skills.Organizational and multi-tasking skills.5% Travel may be required.The COVID-19 vaccination is/may be a condition of employment.All candidates who accept an offer for employment will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screen as a condition of employment.Preferred:Associate's Degree.Certificate from College or Technical School.Completion of a Radiology Program.Successfully demonstrate proficiency running advanced Radiology studies independentlyTechnical proficiency using diagnostic imaging equipmentPossession of venipuncture certification, or ability to secure within 3 months, if required by customer/contractAt Akumin, we invest in the well-being of our employees, so you can bring your best self to work each day.
