HHS Culinary and Nutrition Solutions, LLC (USA) seeks a Malnutrition Informatics Specialist RD to lead and manage the organization’s malnutrition program. This role emphasizes nutrition-focused data analytics, KPI tracking, and continuous quality improvement across hospitals in the assigned region.

The position requires a Registered Dietitian with state licensure, at least five years in clinical nutrition, NFPE knowledge, and strong collaboration with physicians, RDs, and CNMs.

Job Description

Location: CNS RD

Overhead Pay Rate: Salary - Salary Plan, 75,000.00 USD Annual

The Malnutrition Informatics Specialist RD will focus on malnutrition to lead and manage our organization's malnutrition program. This job requires a deep understanding of malnutrition program development and implementation from both a clinical nutrition and data-driven perspective. This position will focus on the accuracy of patient identification, nutrition interventions, physician diagnosis, and billing process to show continuous quality improvement. It will also mentor, train, and provide continual support to the hospital RDs and Clinical Nutrition Managers (CNMs) within the assigned region. The Malnutrition Informatics Specialist RD will analyze program data, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide education training to healthcare teams to drive patient outcomes and enhance the overall impact of malnutrition.

• Malnutrition Program Management Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the hospital's malnutrition programs in assigned area. Track KPIs to assess the effectiveness of the malnutrition program in improving patient outcomes and increasing malnutrition recognition. Analyze monthly hospital site-specific data. Utilize data analytics to monitor trends in malnutrition diagnoses, interventions, and outcomes, and make data-driven recommendations for program adjustments. Build and maintain strong relationships with physicians, nursing staff, RDs, and other healthcare professionals to foster a collaborative approach to malnutrition management. Lead or participate in multidisciplinary committees, meetings, and training sessions to raise awareness about malnutrition and ensure best practices in screening, diagnosis, and treatment. Ensure staff are knowledgeable about current malnutrition-related guidelines, tools, and evidence-based practices.
• Clinical Support Conduct ongoing monitoring and training on malnutrition assessment and documentation for RDs and CNMs, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness of malnutrition program. Assist RDs and facilities to achieve a quality standard of care, adhering to ASPEN guidelines when screening and assessing for malnutrition. Assist Regional Director of Clinical Nutrition with monitoring RDs clinical competency for regulatory compliance. Provide clinical coverage in areas of responsibility as needed that includes completing documentation of nutrition assessments/follow-ups for patients at risk of malnutrition. Adhere to all HHS policies and procedures. Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in rapidly integrating into diverse team and clinical environments that may include varied electronic medical records, workflows, and clinical protocols.
• Quality Assurance Regularly assess program performance and impact through data collection, audits, and performance reviews. Provide reports to HHS leadership on program outcomes, including trends in malnutrition rates, identification accuracy, and overall impact on patient care and revenue. Identify opportunities for improvement based on data trends and feedback from clinical teams. Advocate for organizational policies and clinical practices that promote early recognition, accurate diagnosis, and appropriate treatment of malnutrition.

• Experience in data collection and analysis using Excel spreadsheets and proficiency in computer skills.
• Multi-task, manage personnel remotely, able to travel up to 75% of their time (both air and ground).
• Communicate effectively with clients, customers, management teams, and clinical teams, both orally and in writing.
