Job description

We are seeking to contract a Male Clinical Office Administrator to assist practitioners in performing Compensation & Pension Exams (C&P) for our military Veterans at various sites throughout the USA.

  • Length: One year with the option to extend
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Hours: Part Time, Tues - Thurs, 7:30am - 5:30pm
  • Pay: $18.50 hourly + benefits
  • The VA has requested that we have someone for each gender available to accompany Veterans during certain sensitive exams.

Responsibilities:

  • Receives and screens telephone calls and visitors to the office.
  • Determines the need(s) of the caller/visitor and addresses them accordingly, providing information per organization policy. Takes and forwards messages.
  • Makes appointment confirmation phone calls. Provide instructions to patient, explain an upcoming exam, and/or answer questions.
  • Make call outs to veteran if exam date and time needs to be modified same day.
  • Greets Veterans by completing check-in process and performs necessary screenings for appointments. Obtains necessary demographic information, signatures, copies, etc. Verifies all information.
  • Maintains compliance files, records, logs, charts in accordance with Optum Serve and Federal, State, and Local regulatory, contractual, and organizational guidelines including HIPAA as outlined in training and policies/procedures, quality assurance and improvement processes.
  • Maintains and orders supplies for personnel/department as needed or requested.
  • Receives and opens incoming mail and packages. Reviews, sorts, and directs to the appropriate person.
  • Acts as point of contact for repairs, installations, record retrieval and other company needs.
  • Assists with orientation for new staff and practitioners.
  • Contacts IT for assistance with issues in the office.
  • Performs light cleaning and sanitization of common areas and front desk area.
  • Chaperone exams as requested by examiner and exam type.
  • Performs any other duties as directed by Optum Serve leadership.
  • Commitment to serving Veterans, including those with service animals, ensuring they are not refused service.

  • Accountability to be punctual and abide by work schedule.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Individuals must be able to work independently and as part of a team, have good interpersonal skills and a willingness to be flexible and adapt to changing situations.
  • Candidates must have prior Clinical Office Admin experience.
  • Candidates must possess computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite programs, Gmail and Google Drive, setting up printers, troubleshooting internet issues, ability to learn new programs and systems.
  • This job may require sitting for long periods, bending, twisting and occasionally lifting/carrying more than 50 pounds.
