Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience in senior care, home care, or similar caregiving roles.
• Background in bathing, toileting, dressing, and continence care.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living while encouraging the client to complete tasks he can safely perform independently
• Provide compassionate assistance with bathing, showering, grooming, dressing, toileting, and continence care
• Use patience and encouragement when assisting with personal hygiene routines
• Provide supervision and assistance with walking, transfers, and mobility
• Encourage safe use of a cane or walker and help reduce fall risk
• Encourage light exercise and daily activity as tolerated
• Encourage proper hydration and healthy meal routines
• Provide companionship through meaningful conversation and social engagement
• Engage the client in activities related to his interests, including sports and food
• Assist with incontinence care and maintaining proper hygiene and comfort
• Monitor for changes in the client's condition and communicate concerns to the family and care team
• Provide reminders and structured daily activities to support routine and cognitive engagement
• Assist with light housekeeping, organization, and household needs as requested
• Provide medication reminders
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable home environment
• Support the client's goal of aging safely and comfortably in his own home while maintaining dignity and independence

ameriCARE Marin is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and experienced male caregiver to provide one-on-one in-home support for a male senior client in San Rafael, CA.

Due to the personal and intimate nature of the care involved, including bathing, toileting, dressing, and continence care, the client has expressed a preference for a male caregiver.

This is a great opportunity for a caregiver who is patient, encouraging, safety-conscious, and comfortable supporting a senior who wants to maintain as much independence as possible while remaining safely at home.

What We're Looking For

The ideal caregiver is:

• Compassionate, respectful, and patient

• Reliable and dependable

• Comfortable providing hands-on personal care

• Experienced with bathing, toileting, dressing, and incontinence care

• Comfortable assisting with mobility, transfers, and fall prevention

• Able to encourage independence without taking over tasks the client can safely perform

• Comfortable providing companionship and engaging in conversation

• Observant and able to recognize and report changes or concerns

• Professional when communicating with the client, family, and care team

• Comfortable working independently in a client's home

Experience in senior care, home care, assisted living, memory care, CNA, HHA, or similar caregiving roles is welcomed.

A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are strongly preferred.
