Job summary

Visiting Angels Northeast Mississippi in Tupelo is seeking a Male Caregiver to support seniors in the Northeast Mississippi region, including Holly Springs, Starkville, Amory, Aberdeen, West Point, Columbus, Caledonia, Eupora, and nearby areas. This role emphasizes compassionate companionship and safe daily living assistance.

You will assist with light housekeeping, meal preparation, mobility support, medication reminders, and transportation.

Qualifications

• Passion to serve others and provide compassionate senior care.
• Strong emergency response and first aid knowledge.
• Ability to follow health and safety standards and dietary constraints.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication.
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (appointments, walks).
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Help clients with routine exercises.
• Plan and prepare meals with client input when able.
• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop.
• Perform light housekeeping duties as needed.
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion.
• Report any unusual incidents and act quickly in emergencies.

Male Caregiver Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks, etc.)
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
• Help clients with routine exercises
• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients (when they are able)
• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop
• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion
• Report any unusual incidents
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

Caregiver Requirements

• Passion to serve others - a true caregiver
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
