Job summary

Grand Hyatt Vail is seeking a Makoto line cook to prepare food to order according to our recipes, procedures, and standards. Starting pay is $20.00/hour, with actual pay commensurate with experience.

Essential functions include stocking, prepping, operating kitchen equipment, and safe food handling. The role requires physical stamina for long shifts and teamwork in a fast-paced environment at our ski-in/ski-out resort in Vail, Colorado.

Qualifications

• Lifts and carries sacks, boxes & product up to 25 lbs. from floor to above waist level, approx. 20 feet, sometimes involving stairs.
• Stands or walks during the entire 8-10 hour shift.
• Hazards include cuts, burns, slips, trips.
• Performs job at a continuously high pace, under pressure, while maintaining quality and speed standards.
• Reads and understands English.
• Interacts verbally with other line positions.
• Works closely with other staff, often in confined areas.
• Flexible in performing other related tasks designated by management.
• Meets all required standards for safe food handling.
• Previous experience in a Japanese kitchen preferred

The Makoto line cook prepares food to order according to our recipes, procedures, quality expectations and speed levels.The starting rate of pay for this position is $20.00/hour. Actual pay will be commensurate with experience.
