Job summary

PINE HALL BRICK COMPANY INC is seeking a Making Line Technician to work from the reclaimer to the slug cutter, closely coordinating with sand/slurry prep and setting machine operators to keep the production line running smoothly.

The role requires attention to brick size, coatings, and texture, with regular communication to ensure brick quality before loading on the kiln car. PPE and safety compliance are essential, with willingness to assist maintenance as needed.

Qualifications

• Proficient in reading tape measure and scales (standard/metric).
• Must be able to multi-task and be a team player.
• Must participate in dept housekeeping and meet standards.
• Must communicate regularly with setting machine operator and other line staff.

Responsibilities

• Make line from reclaimer to slug cutter, ensuring production line runs smoothly.
• Co-responsible for brick quality on kiln car with setting machine operator.
• Communicate size, coatings and texture regularly.
• Assist maintenance during breakdowns and perform PM to ensure equipment operation.
• Keep work area clean and orderly.

Description

The making line technician's area of responsibility is from the reclaimer to the slug cutter. They are to work closely with the sand/slurry preparation and setting machine operators to keep the production line running. The operator is co responsible for the quality of the brick going on the kiln car with the setting machine operator and must communicate regularly as to size, coatings and texture.

Requirements

• Accurately trimming brick to size and changing trimming wires, when necessary.
• Maintain proper size and color as required by recipe.
• Monitor all areas for feed of proper material.
• Change-over line accurately and in a timely manner.
• Keep work area clean and orderly.
• PM and assure proper operation of equipment.
• Assist maintenance, as needed, during breakdowns.
• Proficient in reading tape measure and scales (standard/metric).
• Operate machinery properly and safely.
• Must be able to multi-task
• Must participate in dept housekeeping and meet standards.
• Must be a team player – help out co-workers.

Educational, Experience, & Skill Requirements

• Hardhat, safety glasses, and steel toe shoes etc. required.
• Ability and willingness to help throughout the Plant where needed.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Must be able to twist, stoop, and bend regularly.
• Must be able to pick up brick from floor level frequently.

Work Schedule

7am-7pm, this is a 3/4 schedule (2-2-3) must work every other weekend.
