Job summary

Westmoreland County Community College is seeking a Lab Aide to support MADE@Westmoreland, ensuring the makerspace, equipment, tools, and materials are organized and ready for instructional, workforce, and community use. You will help create a safe, welcoming environment for creativity and fabrication.

The role involves assisting instructors and staff, stocking materials, and maintaining records of equipment use and condition, with a focus on safety and efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Proficient verbal and written communication; ability to read and follow instructions.
• Ability to provide excellent customer service and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the makerspace, storage areas, and tool stations to keep a clean, organized, and functional environment.
• Ensure safety and secure handling of equipment, tools, and materials.
• Prepare equipment, materials, and tool stations for classes, workshops, and trainings according to the schedule.
• Report equipment issues promptly to the Director and assist with maintenance as needed.
• Provide technical and logistical support to instructors and staff for equipment setup and workspace readiness.
