Job summary

Handmade Arcade in Pittsburgh seeks an Education Coordinator to support its maker accelerator programs and education initiatives. The role blends program management, community engagement, and curriculum development for workshops and youth projects.

You will collaborate with the Executive Director, manage applications, coordinate events both online and in-person, and help ensure inclusive, accessible education for makers from diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications

• Three+ years in teaching, arts education, community engagement, or program coordination.
• Ability to work with creative entrepreneurs, makers, and artists building small businesses.
• Team player with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Excellent customer service and ability to navigate fast-paced environments.
• Comfort with workshop artistry, lesson delivery, and inclusive education practices.
• Weekday availability and flexibility for evenings/weekends during events.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day operations of maker education and support programs.
• Create timelines, project plans, and participant communications.
• Manage program applications and jurying processes with staff.
• Develop materials and webpages for maker education initiatives.
• Track metrics, attendance, and outcomes for grant reporting.
• Manage budgets, supplies, and vendor relationships for programs.
• Lead virtual and in-person Youth Maker Accelerator workshops and meetings.
• Collaborate on education content with artists and experts.
