Job summary

Carleton Living is seeking a Make Ready Technician for Saddlewood Club to prepare apartments for move-in and maintain exterior property upkeep. You will perform cleanup, repairs, and preventative tasks to ensure readiness and curb appeal.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work well with others and take direction from supervisor
• Basic writing and reading skills required
• A commitment to exceptional customer service is critical
• Some plumbing, electrical, general maintenance and appliance repair knowledge preferred

Responsibilities

• Remove trash and items left by previous resident
• Repair and prep walls, doors, wood trim, closets, and cabinets for painting
• Repair glass items such as windows, medicine cabinets, light globes, mirrors
• Ensure proper operation of appliances (stove, vent-a-hood, garbage disposal, refrigerator, dishwasher, water heater, HVAC, washer/dryer)
• Repair minor problems and report major issues to management prior to move-in
• Ensure proper operation of window blinds/curtains and door latches
• Install weather stripping on doors and windows
• Repair bathroom tile/walls as required
• Re-key master locks and provide keys for leasing
• Repair leaking faucets and plumbing lines

Position Overview:

The Make Ready Technician is responsible for preparing an apartment for move in after the previous resident has moved out. In addition, the Make Ready Technician is responsible for the daily upkeep and cleaning of the exterior of the property.

What You’ll Do:

• Removal of trash and all items left by the previous resident.
• Repair and prepare walls, doors, wood trim, closets, and cabinets for painting.
• Repair any glass items such as windows, medicine cabinets, light globes, mirrors, etc.
• Insure proper operation of stove, vent-a-hood, garbage disposal, refrigerator, dishwasher, water heater, HVAC, washer and dryer and any other appliances.
• Repair minor problems and report major problems to management so they can be repaired prior to move-in, i.e., major HVAC repairs, large sheet rock repairs.
• Ensure proper operation of all window blinds and/or curtains.
• Ensure all door latches operate properly and have the proper carpet clearance.
• Install weather stripping around doors and windows where required.
• Repair bathroom floor and wall tile when required.
• Re-key master locks and make keys available for leasing prior to move-in.
• Repair all leaking faucets, water pressure lines, and drain line leaks.
