Job summary

GCI Residential in Concord, NC is seeking a Make Ready Technician to support our Legacy Concord community. You’ll handle light maintenance, assist in making units ready for new residents, and uphold our standards of care and safety.

The role requires basic maintenance knowledge, a high school diploma, and a valid driver's license. You’ll work a non-traditional schedule including evenings and weekends, with opportunities for growth in a supportive team.

Qualifications

• General maintenance knowledge including HVAC, plumbing, carpentry and electrical preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform light maintenance such as trashing vacant apartments and removing carpet.
• Light landscaping duties including weeding, watering and planting flowers.
• Inspect and maintain buildings to ensure appearance aligns with standards and laws.
• Assist maintenance staff to ensure Make Ready Units meet electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, drywall, appliance and lock basics.
• Snow removal when needed.
• Provide high quality customer service to maximize resident retention.

This position is empowered by the Maintenance Supervisor to build and maintain a collaborative work environment while being able to consistently deliver the highest quality of customer service. Our Make Ready Technicians are instrumental in maintaining the facility at their community and develop standards that have a positive impact on resident renewals and customer satisfaction.

What you’ll do:

• Responsible for light maintenance, i.e., 'trashing' vacant apartments, removing carpet, etc.
• Responsible for light landscaping duties, i.e., weeding, watering, planting flowers, etc.
• Routinely inspects and maintains buildings and property to ensure appearance of the community is consistent with company standards and any applicable federal, state and local laws
• Assist Maintenance staff in ensuring Make Ready Units are consistent with the basic principles of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and drywall, appliance, keys and locks
• Snow removal when needed
• Provides high quality customer service according to GCI's customer service principles in order to maximize resident retention

Requirements

What we need:

• General Maintenance experience/Knowledge in HVAC, Plumbing, Carpentry, Electrical preferred
• Dedication to exceeding the needs of all customers with an ability to build and maintain relationships
• Demonstrate thoroughness, self-motivation and organization when accomplishing tasks
• Ability to work a non-traditional schedule including evenings, weekends and on-call hours as needed

Education, Licenses, and Certifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Valid Drivers License Required
