The Make Ready Technician is responsible for preparing vacant apartments for move-in, completing general repairs, assisting with preventative maintenance, and helping maintain the overall appearance and condition of the community. Key Responsibilities
As a Make Ready Technician, you will:
- Prepare vacant apartment homes for new residents and ensure units are move-in ready.
- Complete general repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the property.
- Perform painting, drywall repairs, touch-ups, and other finishing work.
- Complete basic plumbing repairs, including toilets, sinks, drains, and fixtures.
- Perform minor electrical repairs, including outlets, switches, fixtures, and other components within the scope of the position.
- Repair doors, locks, cabinets, hardware, and other apartment components.
- Assist with appliance troubleshooting and repairs.
- Assist with flooring repairs and replacement as needed.
- Remove trash, debris, and abandoned items from vacant apartments.
- Assist with maintaining clean and attractive common areas and grounds.
- Identify maintenance concerns and report repairs requiring specialized technical assistance.
- Maintain tools, equipment, supplies, and maintenance inventory.
- Follow company safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Assist the maintenance team with service requests and other property needs as directed.
- Perform additional maintenance and make-ready duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous apartment maintenance, make-ready, or related maintenance experience preferred.
- General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall, carpentry, appliance repair, and preventative maintenance.
- HVAC or EPA certification is a plus.
- Ability to complete assigned work efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
- Customer-service mindset and professional attitude when interacting with residents and coworkers.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects and equipment.
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, climb stairs and ladders, and work in confined areas.
- Ability to reach overhead and perform repetitive maintenance tasks.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and other maintenance equipment.
