Job summary

MCC Label in Ohio seeks a Make Ready Production Support/Press Operator Assistant to support setup and readiness of printing presses per customer specifications. This role partners with the press operator and team to ensure accurate changeovers and efficient production.

You will follow safety policies, assist in cleanup and changeovers, and help maintain quality and workflow in a fast-paced environment. Suitable for individuals with a GED/HS diploma and willingness to learn.

Qualifications

• Must have HS diploma or GED with related experience or training.
• Print shop experience helpful but not required.
• Ability to communicate effectively and be a team player.
• Ability to read and understand a job ticket.
• Ability to read a ruler and pass a ruler test.
• Ability to pass an eye test (20/20) and color test.
• Ability to input data into a computer.
• Ability to work in a team with urgency for on-time completion.
• Self-motivated with focus and instruction-following.
• Able to stand/move around the press area for long periods.
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Assertive and solution-focused.
• Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all company and safety policies and procedures.
• Attains and maintains all defined job objectives related to planning and execution of all jobs and quick changes.
• Assists in external make-ready operations for label changeovers.
• Assists in external clean-up after changeovers.
• Cleans ink pans and ancillary equipment.
• Strips plates from cylinders.
• Locates dies to and from the press.
• May work with a press operator to view labels with a strobe light assistance.
• Comply with QA specifications of the customer and MCC.
• May complete the QA sheet and related documentation.
• Maintain cleanliness of machinery and workspace.
• Overtime when needed and as assigned.
• Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

We are currently looking for a Make Ready Production Support/Press Operator Assistant to join our team. The role is responsible for the setup and support of printing presses in accordance with the printing specifications and customer requirements/expectations.

Responsibilities:

• Comply with all company and safety policies and procedures
• Attains and maintains all defined job objectives related to the planning and execution of all jobs and quick changes
• Assists in the performance of all external make-ready operations in preparation for changeover activities (changing from one label job to another)
• Assists in the performance of all external clean-up activities following changeover
• Cleans ink pans and ancillary equipment
• Strips plates from cylinders
• Locates dies to and from the press
• May be required to work with a press operator to view labels with the assistance of a strobe light
• Comply with the quality assurance specifications of the customer and MCC
• May be required to complete the quality assurance sheet and associated documentation
• Responsible for the cleanliness of machinery and the organization of the workspace
• Responsible for working overtime when needed and as assigned
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Print shop experience helpful, but not required
• Ability to communicate and interact well with others (verbally and in written form); seen as a team player
• Ability to read and understand a job ticket
• Ability to read a ruler and understand measurements (able to pass a ruler test)
• Ability correctable to 20/20 (able to pass an eye test)
• Ability to differentiate colors (able to pass a color test)
• Ability to input data into the computer
• Ability to work in a team environment with a high sense of urgency for on-time completion of assigned activities
• Self-motivated with the ability to stay focused and follow instructions
• Ability to stand and move around the press area for long periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
