Job summary

MCC is seeking a Make Ready Production Support/Press Operator Assistant in Batavia Township, OH. The role covers setup and support of printing presses per specifications and customer expectations. The candidate will follow safety policies and assist with changeovers and cleaning.

Ideal candidates are reliable team players with a high school degree, ruler test ability, and capacity to lift up to 40 lbs. Print shop experience is a plus, but not required, and overtime may be needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Print shop experience helpful, but not required.
• Ability to read a ruler and pass a ruler test.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all company and safety policies and procedures.
• Attains and maintains defined job objectives for planning and execution of jobs and quick changes.
• Assist in external make-ready operations for label jobs and changeovers.
• Assist with external clean-up after changeovers.
• Clean ink pans and ancillary equipment.
• Strip plates from cylinders and locate dies to and from the press.
• May work with a press operator to view labels with a strobe light.
• Comply with quality assurance specifications of customer and MCC.
• Complete QA sheets and documentation as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of machinery and workspace organization.
• Work overtime when required and as assigned.
• Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.

We are currently looking for a Make Ready Production Support/Press Operator Assistant to join our team. The role is responsible for the setup and support of printing presses in accordance with the printing specifications and customer requirements/expectations.

Responsibilities:

• Comply with all company and safety policies and procedures
• Attains and maintains all defined job objectives related to the planning and execution of all jobs and quick changes
• Assists in the performance of all external make-ready operations in preparation for changeover activities (changing from one label job to another)
• Assists in the performance of all external clean-up activities following changeover
• Cleans ink pans and ancillary equipment
• Strips plates from cylinders
• Locates dies to and from the press
• May be required to work with a press operator to view labels with the assistance of a strobe light
• Comply with the quality assurance specifications of the customer and MCC
• May be required to complete the quality assurance sheet and associated documentation
• Responsible for the cleanliness of machinery and the organization of the workspace
• Responsible for working overtime when needed and as assigned
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Print shop experience helpful, but not required
• Ability to communicate and interact well with others (verbally and in written form); seen as a team player
• Ability to read and understand a job ticket
• Ability to read a ruler and understand measurements (able to pass a ruler test)
• Ability correctable to 20/20 (able to pass an eye test)
• Ability to differentiate colors (able to pass a color test)
• Ability to input data into the computer
• Ability to work in a team environment with a high sense of urgency for on-time completion of assigned activities
• Self-motivated with the ability to stay focused and follow instructions
• Ability to stand and move around the press area for long periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
