Overview

The Make Ready Maintenance Technician is responsible for preparing vacant apartment units for new residents and performing various maintenance tasks to ensure the property remains in excellent condition. This role involves a combination of technical skills and attention to detail to ensure units are ready for occupancy and the property meets high standards of appearance and functionality.

Responsibilities

• Unit Turnover and Preparation: Inspect vacant units, determine required repairs, replace or repair fixtures and appliances, and ensure all units meet the property's quality standards before lease.
• General Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance such as changing light bulbs, fixing leaks, and unclogging drains; perform preventive maintenance on equipment and systems; assist with emergency maintenance tasks as needed.
• Property Upkeep: Maintain curb appeal through pressure washing, painting, and landscaping; keep common areas clean, safe, and functional.
• Safety and Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and report safety hazards or maintenance issues to the Property Manager.
• Customer Service: Interact professionally with residents, address maintenance requests promptly, and communicate effectively with the Property Manager and team members.

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance experience, preferably in a multi‑family residential setting.
• Proficiency in basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, and use hand and power tools.
• Reliable transportation, ability to pass a background check, and on‑call availability for emergency maintenance needs.

Work Schedule

• Full‑time position.
