Job summary

Barge Properties is seeking a dependable and motivated Assistant Maintenance Technician to support daily operations and maintenance of our Tyler, TX apartment communities.

You will assist with apartment turns, preventative maintenance, service requests, grounds upkeep, and general property maintenance, working alongside experienced maintenance professionals to ensure clean, safe, and attractive communities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Basic knowledge of maintenance tools and equipment.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable transportation
• Valid driver's license
• Strong customer service and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily maintenance operations throughout the property
• Help complete resident service requests in a timely and professional manner
• Support routine and preventative maintenance activities
• Assist with apartment turns and make-ready projects
• Perform painting, cleaning, drywall repair, and minor repairs as needed
• Ability to trouble shoot in all areas above
• Assist with maintaining common areas, amenities, and property grounds
• Help identify maintenance issues before they become larger repairs
• Follow safety policies and company procedures
• Maintain accurate work orders and maintenance documentation
• Support senior maintenance team members with larger projects and repairs
• Assist with inventory organization and maintenance supplies as needed

Working alongside experienced maintenance professionals, you will assist with apartment turns, preventative maintenance, service requests, grounds upkeep, and general property maintenance.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As an Assistant Maintenance Technician, you will:

WORK HOURS & LOCATION REQUIREMENTS

• This position requires full-time, on-site presence at our Tyler, TX property.
• The standard schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm.
• Some evening, weekend, and on-call work may be required
• Occasional travel to nearby properties, vendors, or supply locations as needed
