Job summary

The Bronx Museum of the Arts seeks a Development Officer to advance major gifts and donor relations in a dynamic nonprofit environment.

This full-time, 18-month contract role in Bronx with hybrid work offers a competitive salary and benefits, including health, dental, vision, and a 401(k). The position reports to the Director of Development and works with curatorial leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Arts Administration, Communications, Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or a related field (CFRE or advanced degree is a plus).
• Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in nonprofit development with a track record of securing major gifts.
• Prior capital campaign experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Engage high-net-worth individuals and institutional leaders for major gifts.
• Lead donor management and fundraising strategy.
• Travel locally and regionally for donor meetings and events, including evenings and weekends.

Compensation: $105,000 to $110,000 Per Annum

Benefits:Paid vacation, sick, holiday, and personal leave. Eligible after 3-months of

work for vision, dental, and medical insurance, as well as a 401(k) savings plan. Eligible for a pension plan after 1-year of service.

Desired Skills/Qualifications

Communication Skills: Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate our mission passionately and persuade high-net-worth individuals and institutional leaders.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in donor management software (CRM) and the Microsoft Office Suite.

Work Style: Self-starter with the ability to work independently, combined with the willingness to travel locally and regionally, including evening and weekend work for donor meetings and events.

Education and Experience
