Job description

Circle the City, a leading healthcare non-profit dedicated to providing compassionate care for individuals experiencing homelessness, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Development Officer to serve as a front-line fundraiser & grant writer. This role is responsible for cultivating donor relationships, securing major gifts, and writing compelling grant proposals and stewardship reports to support the organization's mission. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in fundraising, with a preference for backgrounds in healthcare or higher education.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and execute strategies to cultivate, solicit, and steward individual donors, corporate sponsors, and foundations.
  • Manage a portfolio of major gift prospects, identifying new funding opportunities to advance Circle the City's programs.
  • Work closely with the leadership team to develop and implement fundraising campaigns and donor engagement initiatives.
  • Plan and execute donor tours and recognition opportunities to enhance donor relationships.
  • Research, write, and submit compelling mid-level grant proposals to private foundations, corporate partners, and government agencies, as needed, in collaboration with the Grants Manager.
  • Develop persuasive case statements and narratives that align with Circle the City's mission and funding priorities.
  • Partner with internal teams to gather data, success stories, and impact metrics for fundraising materials.
  • Track and analyze fundraising performance metrics, providing regular updates to leadership.
  • Stay informed about trends in philanthropy, healthcare funding, and donor engagement best practices.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience :

  • Minimum of five years of experience in frontline fundraising and grant writing, combined, preferably in healthcare or higher education . Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, business or related field.
  • Proven track record of securing major gifts and successfully writing funded grant proposals.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with donors, corporate partners, and community stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft compelling donor messaging.
  • Proficiency in donor management systems (CRM software) and grant-tracking tools.
  • Passion for Circle the City's mission and commitment to serving vulnerable populations.
  • Full-time, exempt position with a flexible work environment.
  • Occasional travel for donor meetings and events may be required.
