Messmer High School is a 9-12 grade Catholic high school that serves students and families on the north side of Milwaukee. Messmer High School currently enrolls over 500 students. 80% of our students attend college. African American students comprise 85% of the student body and over 70% of students qualify for free/reduced meals. Regardless of student background and external factors, MHS maintains high expectations for students.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Major Gifts Officer reports to the Director of Advancement & Alumni Relations while working closely with the President to manage major donor and prospect relationships. This role oversees a portfolio of 150-175 qualified prospects. Key responsibilities include leading major gift donor development for the 100th Anniversary Campaign and representing the organization at community events and networking opportunities to enhance engagement and support.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education Requirements: Bachelor of Arts/Science
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years experience preferred

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

The below statements are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work performed in this position. This is not a complete listing of all responsibilities, duties, and/or skills required; other duties may be assigned.

  • Develops and maintains a portfolio of approximately 150-175 qualified prospects consisting of:
  • 85-100 Major Gift ($10K+) donors (alumni & non-alumni)
  • 65-75 Planned Giving prospects
  • Leads 100th Anniversary Campaign major gift donor prospect development
  • Coordinates cultivation, ask, and stewardship plans with the President and Director of Advancement & Alumni Relations
  • Assists with promoting Messmer at community events and networking opportunities
