As a Major Gifts Officer, you will impact lives of individuals, families, children, and senior adults through securing major gifts for the ministries of CCA from donors and donor prospects that have an affinity for CCA and the ability to make gifts at the major gifts level established by CCA. You will be responsible for driving excellence and ensuring that development and stewardship strategies deliver the required results aligned with CCA's mission, vision, and values.

You will make a difference by:

• Design, develop and implement a Major Gifts program to support CCA.
• Support the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors.
• Manage a major gift development portfolio of individuals, both donor and donor prospects, with the rated ability to make gifts of $10,000 or more.
• Execute an annual development plan for donors and donor prospects assigned to the major gift’s portfolio.
• Develop and implement strategies for donor development and relationship management necessary to cultivate and solicit major donor prospects. Create cultivation strategies to fully engage and prepare donors and prospects for solicitation.
• Fully utilize tools and resources of CCA to establish cultivation strategies and make calls to individuals to promote CCA and its needs.
• Intentionally steward existing donor relationships.
• Make qualification calls to individuals for the purpose of identifying and then cultivating relationships that could lead to donations to CCA’s ministries.
• Prepare written proposals to support direct solicitations.
• Utilize CCA’s network in the cultivation and solicitation of prospective donors.
• Champion a greater understanding and awareness of CCA’s mission and ministry among donors/prospects.
• Record all contacts with donors/prospects using CCA’s DonorPerfect donor database.
• Liaison to the community; speaks in public on behalf of CCA.
• Responsible for supporting and representing CCA at special events, activities, and other assigned functions.
• Attend and participate in external meetings, events, staff meetings, and training as required. Facilitate meetings and training as required.
• Perform special assignments, projects, and other duties as required.

As a Major Gift Officer, you must:

• Possess a bachelor’s degree in a related field required. Minimum 5 years prior related proven experience required in building and sustaining relationships with constituents that are engaged with an organization. A current certification as a Certified Fund Raising Executive preferred.
• Have prior related experience working with necessary parties to develop and refine content for case necessary to support solicitations.
• Have proven successful experience in identifying, cultivating, and sustaining relationships that lead to financial or other contributions to an organization.
• Proficient working knowledge and experience in proposal writing.
• Have knowledge of donor development, fundraising and public relations laws and regulations governing agency and employees required.
• Have knowledge and experience using data analysis and reporting.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel throughout Denton County 50-60% of the time.
• Must be an active member of a local church.
