Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors, creating individualized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement a comprehensive major gifts program.
  • Conduct prospect research and qualification to identify potential major donors.
  • Develop and implement donor strategies to secure major gifts, including identifying donor interests and aligning them with organizational needs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with board members, leadership, and donors, acting as the primary liaison between these key stakeholders.
  • Represent the organization at events and meetings, effectively communicating our mission and impact to potential donors.
  • Prepare compelling proposals, presentations, and reports to secure major gifts.
  • Track and report on major gifts activity and progress towards goals.
  • Work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of major gifts.
  • Stay current on trends and best practices in major gifts fundraising and the arts industry.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Nonprofit Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in major gifts fundraising, preferably in the arts industry.
  • Proven track record of securing major gifts and meeting fundraising goals.
  • Strong understanding of the principles of major gifts fundraising, including prospect research, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective donor strategies.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to forge strong relationships with board members, leadership, and donors.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Proficiency in fundraising software and databases.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Passion for the arts and a commitment to the mission of our organization.
