Job summary

The American Swedish Institute is seeking a Gift Officer to grow a culture of philanthropy and build lasting relationships with donors, sponsors, and community partners. This full-time, hybrid role reports to the Director of Development in the Development division.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years’ experience in a large or mid-sized fundraising program.
• Proven track record of cultivating, soliciting, closing, and stewarding major gifts from individuals.
• Ability to connect with different audiences and build long-term relationships.
• Solid organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent writing and editing skills, and strong verbal communication.
• Ability to work non-traditional hours for donor programming and events, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of 100–125 individual and corporate prospects and donors.
• Build and strengthen ASI’s fundraising capacity through a culture of philanthropy and donor engagement.
• Partner with the Director of Development to create strategies to engage businesses financially.
• Collaborate with internal partners to provide a meaningful donor engagement experience.
• Document donor interactions with contact reports to maintain relationships.
• Report on performance and progress toward goals.
• Perform other duties within the scope as needed.
