Job summary

Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking an Assistant Director of Development to lead major gift fundraising efforts. Qualifications

• Minimum of a four-year college degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or Business, or equivalent experience.
• 1-3 years of related fundraising, public relations, marketing, or higher education fundraising experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to cultivate donor relationships.

Responsibilities

• Build strong, engaged relationships with major gift prospects to identify funding opportunities.
• Manage a portfolio of ~70 prospects with gifts of $50,000+ and coordinate moves management.
• Plan and implement a yearly fundraising strategy with university advancement.
• Coordinate donor engagement activities, solicit meetings, and drive moves toward major gifts.
