The Major Gift Officer II of Development is responsible for the advancement of the vision and priorities of the University of Maryland Medical Center Midtown Campus (UMMC Midtown Campus) and Community Engagement initiatives across the University Maryland Medical Center and School of Medicine. The Major Gift Officer II will report to the Associate Dean of Development for the University of Maryland Medicine philanthropy team. Working as a strategic partner with the Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer at the UMMC Midtown Campus, the Senior Associate Dean for Population and Community Medicine and the Senior Vice President, Strategy, Community and Business Development, the Major Gift Officer II is responsible for grateful patient and unaffiliated prospect engagement, including major and principal gift conversations, and stewardship of UMMC Midtown Campus and Community Health donors.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors in a related field.
Experience: Four (4) years of philanthropy experience with at least one (1) year of managing prospects in a higher education or equivalent fundraising experience.
Preferred: Professional experience supporting the development work in community healthcare, an academic medical center and/or grateful patient fundraising experience preferred. Management experience preferred.
Other: Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 undergraduate college credits being equivalent to one year of related experience. In instances where specific education and/or experience is required only directly related education and/or experience may be substituted.
Hiring Range: $90,000 - $105,000 (Commensurate with education and experience)
