Johnson Service Group (JSG) seeks an experienced Major Equipment Procurement Engineer for a one-year contract in Baxley, GA. The role focuses on procuring, installing and optimizing major equipment—boilers, turbines, heat exchangers—within thermal processes across power generation and industrial heating sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering or related field.
• 5–10 years in engineering, procurement and installation of major equipment in thermal processes.
• Strong knowledge of thermal processes, equipment and system design.
• Experience in supplier selection, contract negotiation and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement for major equipment, including vendor selection and contract management.
• Assess equipment specs, design and compliance with project requirements.
• Manage procurement budgets and identify cost-saving solutions.
• Develop quality control processes for equipment and QA.
• Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers for on-time delivery and issue resolution.
• Oversee installation and integration of major equipment with project teams.
• Monitor performance and optimize efficiency and reliability of equipment.
• Ensure safety regulations are followed in installations.
• Maintain records of procurement, installation, commissioning and performance.
• Provide technical support to project teams on equipment-related challenges.
