Job summary

Southern California Edison in Pomona, CA is hiring a Major Construction Associate Project Manager to oversee multiple substation projects within the IPSEC model. You will scope, estimate, budget, and oversee project execution and close-out, with a focus on safety and compliance.

Become an Major Construction Associate Project Manager at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you'll be responsible for project managing multiple projects in the Transmission Substation Project Management organization (TSPM). TSPM oversees the day-to-day execution and project management of $1.6 billion in infrastructure replacement, substation rebuilds, a variety of grid modernization, and load growth projects across the SCE service territory. This position will manage Substation projects across the IPSEC model. Includes scoping, estimating, project budgeting and approval, oversight of project execution and project close out.

Responsibilities

• Manages multiple work streams of one or more short-term projects or programs with responsibility for results in terms of costs, methods and outcomes (scope, schedule, and cost deliverables, in addition to achieving quality and safety objectives) in accordance with the organization and company policies, procedures and guidelines under the direction of a project manager, senior project manager, senior manager or principal manager
• Supports the development of strategy and business cases plans, objectives and initiatives for the organization related to projects under the direction of a project manager, senior project manager, senior manager or principal manager; supports the development of project schedule and budget; participates in the change control process
• Develops and recommends course of action on moderately complex projects in conjunction with the Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, or Manager.With support from their leader - leads managers (combination of SCE and supplemental ICs and leaders) and contractors in the development and execution of major projects and programs; recommends both strategic and tactical leadership direction and well as oversight of work performed; elevates performance issues to their leader; collaborates with their leader on decisions regarding project direction; collaborates on recommendations for senior management and executive level decisions
• Collaborates with Project Managers and Department/Division management on analyzing complex projects and recommending courses of action; supports the development of presentations for senior and executive management for project related issues and prescribed milestones, may present to management
• Provides project leadership for safety, ensuring that the design incorporates the latest standard and requirements and that the work associated with the project is conducted injury free, with support from their leader
• Supports the project manager, senior project manager, senior manager or principal manager in project oversight and fiscal responsibility related to projects and programs
• Supports the development of project team, project development, environmental assessment, execution planning in support of the project manager, senior project manager, senior manager or principal manager
• A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

• Five or more years of experience in construction project management or construction project support.
• Posses a valid Class C Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience working in the Utility Industry.
• Experience in Planning or Construction, with Electric Utility.
• Experience and ability reading and interpreting Construction Maps and Plans.
• Experience in Construction Project Management.
• Experience supporting capital projects, including planning and coordinating multiple deliverables; preparing presentation materials, agendas, and meeting minutes; monitoring and reporting project status; and coordinating activities to ensure timely delivery.
• Experience creating and editing reports, graphs, and presentations, converting information between formats, generating non-standard reports, and maintaining records, logs, document files, and databases used to monitor, track, and trend project costs, resources, schedules, and status.
• Experience with Share Point, BI Dashboards, and Data Analytics.
• Experience with the Microsoft Office suite, including CoPilot.
• Experience integrating work across functions, managing risks appropriately, developing and execute business plans, distill and communicate information effectively, and provide excellent service to internal and external customers.

Additional Information

• This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
