Job summary

The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a Research Technologist in Plant Science to perform molecular analysis of maize genetic stocks carrying endogenous DNA insertions. The role focuses on optimizing PCR-based genotyping protocols and ensuring availability of stocks to the project team.

You will participate in maize field genetics, assist with seed preparation and planting of genetics fields, and conduct field and greenhouse characterization including microscopic and molecular evaluation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required; no prior experience required.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Optimization and application of PCR based genotyping protocols.
• Selection and management of stocks and provision of stocks to other project team members.
• Maize field genetics and support of the project team in seed preparation and planting of genetics fields.
• Field and greenhouse characterization of maize stocks including microscopic and molecular evaluation of arbuscular mycorrhizal colonization.
