Job summary

The Indigo Road Hospitality Group in Greenville, SC is seeking a Maitre D to welcome guests, manage seating, and uphold exceptional service in a fast-paced dining environment.

You will coordinate with the kitchen and dining staff, handle reservations and guest requests, and contribute to a collaborative team focused on guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years as host/maitre d or in high-touch service.
• Availability include nights, weekends and holidays.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Positive energy and strong team player.
• Able to communicate with managers, staff, and guests.
• Constant standing and walking with occasional bending.

Responsibilities

• Take reservations using OpenTable.
• Greet guests warmly on arrival and thank them on departure.
• Manage seating times, provide wait estimates, and accommodate special requests.
• Liaise between kitchen and dining room and relay messages to staff.

The Role

As a Maitre D, you are the first and last person each guest sees. Providing a warm hello and goodbye probably feels second nature. You are always on top of the organization for table times and ensuring each guests’ seating specifications are met (if possible of course).

What we will ask of you

• Responsible for taking reservations using the online reservations system in OpenTable
• Warmly and graciously greet all guests upon arrival and thank guests as they leave
• When seating is limited, provide guests with estimated waiting time, notify party when table becomes available and accommodate special seating requests for all when possible
• Act as a liaison between the kitchen and dining room, and relay messages to support staff and managers as needed

Requirements for Success

• Minimum 3 years host, maitre d' or other high-touch service team experience (management, service, bartender)
• Availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Have a positive energy, be ready to assist fellow support staff and work as a team player
• Ability to communicate effectively with managers, employees, and all guests
• Constant standing/walking with occasional stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling, or lifting
