Job summary

Liberty Senior Living is seeking an experienced Maintenance Worker for Liberty Cares at Cary, NC. The role involves maintaining facility equipment, HVAC filter changes, safety monitoring, and completing work orders and billing forms.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting TVs, grounds and interior cleanliness, and performing minor carpentry, electrical, and plumbing repairs. On-call, weekend rotations, and possible odd hours are required; driving license is needed.

Qualifications

• High school graduate.
• Knowledge of general maintenance.
• Willing to work every other weekend with rest days off during week.
• Must carry phone and respond to maintenance needs when on call.
• Must be willing to work odd hours if emergency arises.
• Must read, know and follow personnel, department and facility policies.

Job Summary:

• Services facility equipment per schedules.
• Changes HVAC filters per schedule.
• Monitors equipment safety and repairs as needed.

• Performs minor electrical repairs and/or cleaning including but not limited to the following:
  • Replace receptacle
  • Replace light bulbs
  • Set up electrical strip and cords
  • Replace light fixtures
  • Clean light fixtures and covers per schedule
• Performs minor plumbing repairs and/or cleaning including but not limited to the following:
  • Replace wax gasket in commode
  • Un-clog toilets
  • Repair faucets
  • Change filters on ice machine per schedule
  • Replace toilet tank parts
  • Clean drain in common area bathrooms per schedule
  • Replace shower head and hose
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Must be a high school graduate
• Must have knowledge of general maintenance

• Must be able to write and read with clarity sufficient to follow instructions.
• Must attend all required meetings.

• Must read, know and follow personnel, department and facility policies.
• Must know how to reset fire alarm panels and pull stations.
• Must be able to locate and operate all fire extinguishers
• Must know how to turn off main power supply, water supply, and/or gas supply to facility.
• Must be knowledgeable of the functions of all roof equipment as well as other equipment in general.
• Must be willing to work as Housekeeping Assistant Porter, Laundry Assistant or Grounds Assistant as needed.
• Must have valid State Driver’s License in good standing and be able to operate a motor vehicle.
• Must follow community approved dress code.
