The Bureau of Prisons/Federal Prison System is looking for a Maintenance Worker Supervisor to oversee the maintenance and repair of institution buildings, supervising inmate workers across trades such as carpentry, plumbing and roofing. Responsible for the maintenance and repair of the institution buildings and structures, through the supervision of inmate workers. Supervises and trains inmate workers in various phases associated with the construction, repair, maintenance, and renovation of buildings and related structures, grounds, fixtures and utilities, requiring the use of a variety of trade practices such as carpentry, masonry, plumbing, cement work, painting, welding, roofing, and other related trades.
Responsible for design and development of plans, specifications and blueprint drawings. Responsible for adhering to safety procedures for hazardous material handling, OSHA requirements, and environmental issues. Responsible for the ordering and purchasing of all material/equipment needed to perform assigned projects. Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution.
The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.

The posted pay range is $36.29 – $42.34/hr.
