Job summary

Universal Health Services' Valley Health Specialty Hospital in Las Vegas seeks a Maintenance Technician for per diem weekend shifts. You will maintain buildings, grounds, equipment and utilities while performing specialty tasks such as carpentry and painting and exercising versatility across trades as needed.

Strong diagnostic abilities and mathematical aptitude are essential. Two years in trades and a high school diploma are required; trade certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Completion of a certification course in a trade or two years practical experience in one or more trades.
• Associates of Science Degree in related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the physical plant buildings, grounds, equipment and utilities.
• Perform specialty tasks (carpentry, painting, etc.) and work in other trades when trained and qualified.

Job Description

Responsible for the maintenance of the physical plant buildings, grounds, equipment and utilities. Individual Maintenance Technicians are originally hired to perform “specialty tasks” i.e., carpentry, painting, etc. and are expected to work in other trade fields when trained and qualified.

Qualifications

Shift: PER DIEM WEEKEND DAYS

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Completion of a certification course in a trade or two (2) years practical experience in one or more of the following trades: carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting, locksmith, general building, general equipment maintenance. Associates of Science Degree in related field, such as HVAC, Central Station Equipment or other technical field preferred.

Experience

Minimum two (2) years experience required. Certification/Degree may be substituted for experience.

Technical Skills

Skills in one or more of the specialized trades.

License/Certification

Certification in specialized trade preferred. (carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, etc.)

Other

Must have basic mathematical aptitude and exceptional troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities to be able to identify problems and make recommendations for corrective action with all mechanical and electrical systems and equipment.
