Job summary

CoreCivic is seeking a Maintenance Worker to install, maintain, and repair the facility's building structures and systems in a secure setting.

The role covers plumbing, electrical work, machinery maintenance, and preventative care to ensure safe operations. You may supervise inmates/residents assigned to the Maintenance Department as part of daily duties.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Two years of general maintenance or construction experience required.
• Additional trade school courses may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.
• Knowledge of building construction and building systems preferred.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Minimum age 18.

Responsibilities

• Maintain/repair physical structure of facility in safe/secure operations.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair machines and equipment.
• Install/repair electrical wiring and components of machinery/equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment per plan.

The Maintenance Worker installs, maintains and repairs the facility's building structures and systems, including plumbing, electrical wiring and fixtures, machinery, equipment, electronics, vehicles and grounds.

• Maintain/repair physical structure of facility in keeping with safe/secure operations of the facility.

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair machines and equipment.

• Install/repair electrical apparatus such as wiring or electronic components of machinery/equipment.

• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment according to the preventative maintenance plan.

• Provide proper supervision and tracking of inmates/residents assigned to Maintenance Department.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma, GED certification or equivalent is required.

• Two years of experience in general maintenance or construction is required.

• Additional equivalent technical/trade school courses in a maintenance or construction related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

• Knowledge of building construction and the operation of building systems is preferred.

• A valid driver's license is required.

• Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.
